Why I Built Tasky

I originally built this app to help me increase efficiency at my task-oriented job, but it has enough features and flexibility that anyone can use it for their timer or productivity needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I see tasks from previous days?

Yes! Just hit the button labeled 'Back' or 'Forward' while on the History page to cycle between days.

What if I can't see the timer on my Chrome extension badge?

Easy fix! Check that the setting is enabled in Tasky - Settings > Timer > Show Timer on Badge, and that you have pinned Tasky in Chrome's extension settings.

Are there any plans to add more tracking data like average task time per day?

Absolutely. I am constantly looking to add new features, and this one is towards the top of my list.

Where do I report a bug or submit a feature request?

You can email me at [email protected], or contact me on X @melvco. I am extremely interested in receiving bug reports, feature requests, and other feedback.

Is Tasky totally free, or are some features exclusive to a more premium version?

As of this FAQ update, Tasky is 100% free. I would like to implement a premium version at some point, but the features there would have to add considerable value.

How do I set up keyboard shortcuts?

Click the Extensions button in Chrome's toolbar (the puzzle piece to the right of the search bar), and then click the 3-dots menu next to Tasky > Manage Extension > Keyboard Shortcuts. You can set a shortcut to either activate the popup menu or toggle the timer off/on.
